Originally from Bedford, VA, Elizabeth has always enjoyed gardening. After completing her education at Salem College, she taught school before transitioning into banking. Her love of gardening and design inspired her to co-create The Curated Container. Her husband, a native of Hampton Roads, and the couple, along with their two daughters, moved to the area in 2013.

Mindy, originally from Texas, moved to Virginia in 1991. After graduating from Virginia Tech, she taught Pre-K for fifteen years. Despite the busyness of life, she has always found time for gardening. When she and Elizabeth met, they quickly bonded over their shared passion for plants and design. They decided to combine these passions into a business, and thus, The Curated Container was born. Mindy and her husband, along with their son and daughter, make their home in Hampton Roads.
